Color/Texture
The heartwood of a beli veneer is light brown with dark colored stripes. The surface of a quarter cut saw looks like zebra wood, with wide edges, light yellow color, no stripes, and a distinct difference from heartwood. The texture is usually interlaced, ranging from medium to rough materials with a soft natural luster.
Price/Market Supply Situation/Certification
Little zebras are generally not exported and are usually sold in the form of wood veneer and wooden blocks, with prices in the upper middle range. At present, this variety has not been certified as endangered and is not protected by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Comments and reviews
Little zebra is a substitute variety for zebra wood, with a lower price than zebra, but sometimes its color is not as clear and distinct as zebra wood and white ebony.
